Welcome to Bolivia!
Today I’m taking you to two mythical places:
The Potosí mine, one of the most famous and historic mines in the world, rising to 4,782 metres. Nicknamed the ‘mountain that eats men’ because of the extremely harsh working conditions, thousands of indigenous people and African slaves lost their lives there.
The Uyuni salt desert, the largest salt desert in the world, covering more than 10,000 km². Majestic!
One of only two landlocked countries in South America, access to drinking water is unevenly distributed.
Despite good resources, it is around La Paz that the difficulties are felt, particularly affecting rural populations and densely populated urban areas.

Through my journey, I’m going to meet people and I’m going to try to unearth, test and share solutions, so that everyone can be made aware and take action at their own level.
My project is directly linked to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals to be achieved by 2023 according to the United Nations:
➤ Goal No. 6: ensure access for all to sustainably managed water supply and sanitation services.
➤ Goal 14: conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.
