Shandong Gold, number two in China, made this discovery in eastern China. With 2 kilometers long and 67 meters wide, this mine could hold more than 382 tonnes of gold – that is 12.3 million ounces. This could well be the biggest gold discovery ever made in China. However, as the drilling has not yet started, these figures are only estimates at the present time.
This discovery may well have a major impact on the rest of the global industry, including prospecting techniques. The Shandong Gold group pointed out that this discovery was the result of its “Deep Exploration Technology”, thus suggesting that explorers adapt their technology to improve the results of their research.
